How a tech #lawyer who knows nothing about the #Sanderson v. #Paltrow tort case sees things:
• Ms. Paltrow, a Hollywood A-lister with a matching reputation for entitlement, ploughs into Dr. Sanderson, a 76yo, on the #ski slopes—not an uncommon thing among amateur skiers
• The good doctor, a 76yo pensioner, should have been on the bunny slope, but no—I'm more than two decades junior to the doctor, but common sense and my own judgement say I belong on the bunny slope; no shame, no harm, just fun
• Dr. Sanderson sues Ms. Paltrow for $300k—not an unreasonable amount to cover medical bills and pain-and-suffering damages
• Ms. Paltrow counter sues for $1 damages and legal fees
I'm a tech lawyer, not a tort lawyer. But my common sense says Ms. Paltrow should settle the case for significantly less than $300k, instead of wasting the court's precious time. But....
