Game after game it becomes more and more apparent the Premier League has significant issues with consistency among calls made by their Refs. The call on Ziyech during this Tottenham v Chelsea match is just one example of many "controversial" calls we see every match. I don't even know how they can fix this.

Really strange events in #TOTCHE. Yellow card given on the pitch, VAR reviews which means instant Red Card, Red Card shown on the pitch, then some discussion, and that Red Card is…overturned? Just a yellow? Can Stuart Atwell…do that? #Chelsea

VAR was presented as a corrective for clear and obvious errors.

Ziyech being sent off for his hand to the face of Emerson Royal is exactly the sort of case it was intended to be for.

Stuart Attwell then overruling the (correct) red card and allowing Ziyech to remain in the pitch is an utter shambles.

Simply a woeful weekend for PL officiating. #TOTCHE
