It isn't just the outstanding world (universe) building. Traveller's system was groundbreaking, character creation by playing through your character's history. And then there are #TotM elements (using range rather than a coordinate grid).

Using 2d6 was quite a departure from polyhedrals, though as it turns out, that was not a plus for those of us who like funky dice.

Still, it plays great, and the adventures aren't about experience points, so fun becomes the primary objective.

I prefer theater of the mind #roleplaying, and D&D from its inception prefers miniatures. I guess #OneDnD is a natural realization of that.

But the microtransactions will look familiar to many people who have downloaded a 'free' game from the app store, only to discover they needed to pay to unlock anything more than rudimentary abilities. #Hasbro seems intent to squeeze hard, and if Magic is an indication, it might not work out well for the community.

@ProfFionasm maybe a skeptical agency needs a serious economist simply to criticize all the crappy economics some advocates and staffers offer. It is not as if economic analysis and evidence are homogeneous products. #FTC #defective #economics #TOTM
