..een keuze. Mijn ex en jongste dochter gingen op een kameel de #sahara in.
Mijn oudste en ik kozen voor lopen en kregen 2 gidsen mee (#touaregs) om zo'n zandduin op te lopen. En dat valt niet mee, dat lopen op zandduinen berg op. 🙄 😍
Het uitzicht op de #zonsopgang was echt #spectaculair. Ondertussen babbelde ik met 1 van de #touareg gidsen, die behoorlijk #taalvaardig was (sprak #duits én #engels). De andere gids lag te slapen. 😂

48 followers · 172 posts · Server muenster.imIch bin jetzt innerhalb von 3 Tagen viermal von #Rentnern in einer Art und Weise und heute das erste Mal von Oppa im VW #Touareg auf dem Rad bedroht worden mit den Worten „Hopp, Hopp!“ (ich war ihm wohl nicht schnell genug), dass es mir schwer fällt dem nächsten nicht einen verbalen Einlauf zu verpassen von dem er sich nicht mehr erholt. Nur weil mal sich die selbe Straße teilt. Dann kauft euch halt keinen übertriebenen 3,5Tonner, nur weil man da „doch so schön hoch sitzt“. Mann, ey! 🤬🤬

I bought the album after hearing them on BBC Radio 3's at the time annual best of World Music compilation, which I got a few years in a row and usually had a handful od bands that really stuck out for me. A few I have had pleasure to see live and others I still hope to.

The sound has something of a different feel, with the drum machines, though as it progresses the elements of what give Tinariwen their sound is definitely in there. They are a band I have seen at least 4 times, each time different from before.

The Touareg are traditionally groups of semi-nomadic pastoralists from the central #Sahara. They were eventually colonised by the French, however when many countries gained #independence the Touareg found that they were split up between half a dozen emerging nations, with them being a disadvantaged #minority, leading to various rebellions and conflicts concerning scarce resources and territorial disputes, including the quite recent 2nd Libyan civil war (2012-2020).
This is Tisnant An Chatma by Tamikrest. The #band formed in #Mali 🇲🇱, however such national borders do not really apply here. Tamikrest is #Tamasheq and means "crossing, junction", but also "future". They make #Desert #Blues, also known as Saharan or #Berber #Rock. I *love* this #genre for its #rhythm, #melody and overall #fusion and communal feel.
