Nearly done with setting up all my and in again. Figures I'd forget to back things up there before sending the laptop off to repair. 🤷‍♂️

The on was never a good idea.

Sorry. It just wasn’t. Everything was just worse multitouch gestures.

The window server would constantly crash on the underpowered undercooled intel machines it was made for.

And it interfered with the kinetic workflows of professionals attempting to use the machines as advertised.

Death to the Touch Bar.

I have a problem with my work crashing when being connected to a monitor from sleep. I looked at the error report and noticed:

Curious, this is an Intel Mac, why is it saying ARM64…
Turns out it's the in the that is crashing and it's taking down the entire computer. 😐 So not only is the touch bar user hostile, it's now also leading to panics of the entire machine.

Yeah, Touch Bar: I don't miss it. It was a good idea that just didn't meet my expectations: it wasn't intuitive (because things move around), it wasn't tactile (I had to look at it and constantly missed affordances), it would break (I have had to restart the processes). On the other hand, the Touch ID is awesome. Keep that forever please.

I really, really want a Linux dev machine again, so I was looking at 's XPS and they've got a damn . The single worst part of the last generation Macs 😅
