Did you know #touchosc can natively take input from game controllers on all platforms?

Working on a tutorial to show you how to translate these inputs to #MIDI and #OSC and send it out to other gear and software.

PC issues fixed. Finally got around to trying out #touchosc on the #ipad. You can make any sort of touch midi controller interface you want, essentially. Yesterday I built a generative Grid patch. Today I tried to give it a bit more intention with the help of touchOSC. The Grid is playing synths, bass and percussions. The kick, snare and hihats are separate tracks, but only small clips, where I can influence the pattern and velocity via note repeaters.

I modded a copy of "Gone with the wind" by carving out space for a phone running TouchOSC. I'm gonna use this for a performance soon. The idea is, I'm going to walk around a room while reading from a book (not gone with the wind), and then when not reading, it triggers a generative drum pattern. https://vimeo.com/774181890

#linuxtablet #linuxaudio #Touchscreen pro audio work may be able to possibly be done with #TouchOSC, a commercial midi touchscreen controller app for playing/recording, and a stylus to work the DAW and plugin controls, but I don’t think it will be usable with only a finger at this point. Everything on my standard sized Lenovo 2-in-1 laptop is just too small to use precisely with my finger. However, a stylus and a touchscreen midi controller may just be a workable compromise. 🙂
