I did a bunch of spinning during the #TourDeFleece, and finally started washing (some of) what I spun.
Great news: made a four-ply sock yarn that I'm totally in love with!
Terrible news: forgot handspun is denser than commercial and only made ~200m of it!
Anklet socks, maybe? Anklets with a contrasting toe/heel? Other suggestions welcome. I didn't take notes when I dyed the fibre (stupid!!) and don't want to try to recreate it, as it will definitely end in failure.

I haven't touched the watercolours since.. um.. February? and I'm starting to feel like perhaps I should set them up again. July is World Watercolour Month, but July is also Tour de Fleece and that takes precedence for me. So perhaps August will be a very localized watercolour month?

#tourdefleece is over and I'm happy with what I spun. I think this is the first year I haven't used a wheel for any of it, too lazy to get one out. I think spindles are more fun anyways.
Last day if #TourDeFleece. I guess I’m in the habit of spinning now. I had another braid of dyed cotton roving, so I just spun that on top of the other cotton yarn on the bobbin. I’ll wind off the yarn later. It’s been a productive time for me!Over 3000 yds finished yarn!
Well, I had a little more spinning in me after all. 2 oz dyed cotton roving from a fiber club I joined a few years ago. I’ve spun up most of the wool in my stash, but I still have a crapton of cotton roving. #TourDeFleece
“And now for something completely different”
After spending most of my #TourDeFleece with my wheel, today I’m switching back to a poor neglected spindle project.
This is a merino-silk blend from Sweet Georgia, and I’m trying to spin a very fine lace yarn. I suspect I lost momentum because I’m in a dark grey part of the fiber braid instead of the turquoise I love

This is the last of the polwarth I found the other day. 8 oz (abt 500 yds) 2ply yarn. This is the pre-washed d state, so it shd look a little better after washing. And with that, I think I’m done with #TourDeFleece spinning. I know there’s 2more days, but it’s starting to feel a little tiresome now. I need the 4-5 hrs/day I’ve been spending on this for some other stuff! But I’m happy with what I got done. Finished some projs that had been languishing for a LOOOONG time.
Ok, I am fully in love with this yarn.
Apothefaery handdyed merino combed top, chain-plied. Not yet washed/finished, so there’ll be a little more bloom and redistribution of twist. #TourDeFleece #HandSpinning #SpinningWheel #SpinningWool

1350 (more or less) yds of singles, washed, weighted while drying, & skeined. 80% targhee, 10% bamboo, 10% silk. Kinda of a mess in the spinning, but colors are nice. #TourDeFleece
Everything spun up, will ply when I'm back home again and concentrate on my knitting for the rest of my holiday here 😊. What a productive #TourDeFleece, thank you all for keeping me motivated.

Today’s #TourDeFleece: more chain-plying, and a bobbin that has a lot less singles on it than before. #SpinningWheel #SpinningWool

Today for the #TourDeFleece I finished spinning my blue/brown/white variegated roving. Too lazy/tired for pic. I'll take one after skeins are washed and finished in the next day or so.
It's about 1400 yards of crappy overspun singles.
I am Not Good at spinning soft singles. #sigh
Polwarth/silk skeins, washed & on drying rack. 4skeins @ 400 yds, 1 at 360 yds(approx) #TourDeFleece
Haven't done much spinning in the last week. But just finished this 50g. Now to decide how to ply it. #spinning #eewnano2 #handspinning #FiberCrafts #FiberArts #FibreCrafts #TourdeFleece

Plying yarn: pull up a length of tripled singles. Treadle twelve times. Let the new yarn wind onto the bobbin.
Repeat one thousand times.

More #spinning #tourdefleece Undeyed Border Leicester to ply with some merino/silk and flax...
Finished the yarn yesterday! I'm very happy with how it turned out. It is a sport weight yarn with a wpi of 13 and a grist of 317 m/100g. I restarted another WIP that was blocking one of my wheels for the last 2 years. The roving was dyed by #Regenbogenwolle and consists of 83% Gotland wool and 17% rayon from pineapple.

i haven't kept up with my #TourDeFleece posts on here but i have kept up with my spinning! finished the rambouillet and a braid of merino and plied the rambouillet today as a 3ply on the big boy spinner !
I've been spinning some pale pink merino during the #TourDeFleece. I have a pound of it in total, and was hoping to finish half of that during the Tour... and this morning I finished that half-pound of singles.
I've been spinning in the living room while watching the bike-riding; the wheel on which I like to ply is upstairs in my office.
So now do I...
(a) Continue on! ...start spinning the second half of the same pink stuff, putting off plying 'til later
(b) Finish the first half! ...bring the plying wheel into the living room and start plying the pink yarn I've spun already
(c) New fibre! ...divide the wool for the gradient that will coordinate with the pink yarn and work on spinning that in the living room; ply the pink yarn during downtime at work
Very much leaning towards (c).
