This was the first time the Andover boys won the championship. Also the first time the losing team scored five goals in the final.

VERY exciting game played really well throughout and quite cleanly (maybe the fewest penalties of the tournament? NONE in the third period).

The jersey was my uncle's from a Snoopy Seniors World Tournament (https://www.snoopyshomeice.com/sr-tournament). I don't remember if this is from one of the years his team won (he's been on a winning team several time).

The Class A State Champions are the Hermantown Hawks!!!

They won 3-2 over the Warroad Warriors (who need a new mascot).

Hermantown shut down the Warroad star and after an end-to-end first period the Hawks settled in and controlled the rest of the game. It felt like Warroad could have tied it up but I'm not surprised Hermantown won.

Congratulations Hawks!

It's only early in the third period, but I'm calling this for Hermantown. When a team that dominant is up 7-1, it doesn't matter that there are 13 minutes left. In fact, if a there is a goal differential of six or more in the third period, the mercy rule kicks in (it's officially called "running time") where the clock continues to run while the play is stopped. For example, if there's an icing, the time keeps running between the whistle and the faceoff
