Spent time this morning with this live album from Townes Van Zandt at the height of his abilities. Covers a big enough chunk of his catalogue that its interesting to not-yet fans and dynamic enough for TVZ fans to revel in the way he plays old favorites in a live setting. The dialogue between songs is also worth it.

A more tragic figure in Americana music you can't find but those tragedies produced a deep and powerful catalogue well represented here.
