I don’t think I had ever performed with Adam before this, though I’ve heard him perform many times and always enjoyed how angular and agile he was with his playing.
In this one we end up talking about surface, expectation, and adapting to an unknown environment.

It's one of the first songs I wrote about something I'd read in a science magazine - in this case, the idea of spy cameras so small, they could drift in a cloud of dust, transmitting what they saw back to... wherever.
Somehow that became dusty deserts achieving a sort of semi-sentient longing in the lyrics.
