I can tell you now - if someone made a close-to-the-metal MIDI sequencer now (not just Linux in a box), they could sell a shit ton *IF* they got a decent score on this site:

Updated live rig. Matriarch out, MiniFreak in (so much lighter!). Also brought in the TR8s and I’ll be moving out the Circuit Rhythm (only so many samplers needed). Might bring the Vector into it..

Second there are all the clones #roland itself puts out, I'd look at the #tr8s closely because it's an 808 and so much more. Third the #syntakt will probably do a good job making 808-style sounds with its own oscillators. So whichever way you turn, there are 808 sounds in your future. 😄
