Imagine this: the #TRA2022 is charging €140 per person for tonight’s gala dinner. Like, seriously, is Mick Jagger gonna be at that thing?
Instead, I’m at an amazing vegan buffet restaurant in Lisbon city centre, eating to my heart’s content for €11.95.

Cognitive dissonance at the first #TRA2022 panel on the 2nd day is loud. A panel on ‘green mobility’ (where BMW is a panellist) focuses lots on behaviour change but nothing on the fact that we’ll potentially have millions of polluting cars for years because of very weak proposed Euro 7 standards for non-CO2 emissions.

The first day of #TRA2022 ended. First thoughts:
- The coffee sucks.
- There are so many small technical/scientific sessions, hard to choose.
- There's a depressing lack of cycling/walking/public transport talk in the main plenaries. But lots more in the smaller sessions, where the experts are.
- I think I'm the only 100% cycling NGO advocate in the room, though there are lots of allies.

The #TRA2022 has a poster gallery which is looking pretty sad and empty and the moment. But here’s a nice one examining cycle network connectivity in and around Lisbon, to help decision makers know how good access to cycle paths are.
