Ok #mastodon .. this will be a test. I read a great series of toots on #TrafficControl and #municipal #SpeedLimits but of course can’t find it now. What I do remember (possibly incorrectly) was that it was about #Munich lowering its #residential speed limits and one of the references in the toots was an #Australian study showing how reducing speed limits to #30km/hr changed driver behaviour. The reference kinda showed that driver behaviour changed _without_ enforcement.

Today, from the "doesn't really matter because they're never used" department...

I think that U.S. #Metric speed limit #Signs should have a red ring around the number, even though the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices says that the ring should be black.

It's still a #Regulatory sign with the red ring, and it would stand out a lot more.
