When you flip to some page in the #trafficEngineering handbook, count cars and multiply by the number in the table, without accounting for conditions on the ground and in terms of bike/walk network connectivity, you conclude that two lanes and a left turn pocket are "needed" despite lack of bike lane or sidewalk, somebody is going to get killed.
@ObbieZ too often and unpredictably to require some reservation or logistics, to even get to the nearest car rental place without a car requires overcoming a couple miles of the state highway department's #TrafficEngineering / coercion of maintaining deadly 5-lane stroads through the city.
