The way work in the UK really ticks me off. Because of the strikes, I’ve had to move the dates of my travel for work.

4 out of the 6 train tickets can be moved at an eye-watering admin fee of £20 and at a price that is £40 more than the original ticket. 2 of the train trips can’t be moved or refunded so you just lose them. It’s just nuts. How is this meant to encourage more people to use when it is less hassle and expense to just drive? (I can’t actually drive, but the point is that the rest of my coworkers are now going to).

I’m pretty sure I have so me trying to work out how the heck I’m meant to expense this is fun. I need a numbers and travel person to deal with all this stuff for me.

@shieldsy05 @TerribleMaps If you think DD MMM YYYY is unambiguous, wait until you see British .

Even though they are in English, they don't use the normal month name three-letter abbreviations JAN, FEB, etc, but JNR, FBY, MCH, APR, MAY, JUN, JLY, AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV, DMR. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APTIS_ti

You know you're old when you remember sub 10 quid from Newcastle to London's King's Cross!

If I booked a same day return for tomorrow it's around £350.00!

Darlo to Newcastle return was 5 quid max, today with a same day return you'd be hard pressed to pay less than £35.00!
