Relief: The rider of the road bike that was in front of mine in the rack on the IrishRail train to Sligo is getting off at Longford. So I won’t have to figure out how to move it, get mine out and their back in

Oh the irony. The train before my usual service was late, so much so, if I’d left 2 mins earlier I’d have probably just been able to catch it. Instead, the usual one I get is 7 mins late so having been early now I’m late 🙄😤 #commute #traintoots
That section of train line, after Exeter was extremely beautiful. These are all shots taken from the train and not cropped.
Well, that last stretch was quite tedious, but after a short lunch stop we're now underway again. This is the last third of the journey and should be a bit nicer than the M5 on a coach. If not, I've been reminded that we have some homemade fruitcake.
For those that commented, we've managed to get a seat on the left. Quite lucky because it's a busy service today and as is traditional with our train journeys, our reservations are for a different train.

We've just left Birmingham on a coach, so I guess we're in the "south" now, but we're less than a third of the way to our destination.
Managed to pick up coffee in Piccadilly, although unlocking my phone to get through the barriers with two coffees, two pastries and two bags was a challenge 🤹♀️

I've been travelling between Manchester and Bristol for nearly two decades now. The train line for this route goes north into Glasgow/Edinburgh and south into Cornwall. I've been north but not south. So I thought it would be a good idea to find out what would happen if we went as far south & west as we could.
So, far we've had one train cancellation & the promise of a rail replacement bus, extending the journey time by over an hour. I've probably had better ideas
Can I have a hashtag for travel toots? #TravelToots What about #TrainToots ? Because that would work. I used to have one about the tea trolley. I think that’s too much.
