I made pasta this morning using the pre-soak method. It works.

Until now I've been using a 'hot box' method. I've brought water to the boil, added the pasta, brought the water back to the boil, then placed the saucepan with a lid on in an insulated cooler with an old sleeping bag. The pasta keeps cooking while you prepare the 'sauce'.

Both use the same amount of fuel. Pre-soaking uses more water but a hot box can be fiddly.

Morning all ☕

I'm going through a less-than-perky phase (the joys of an ) but I've been enjoying all of your posts and occasionally commenting.

A couple of months ago I discovered 'nooch'. I wish I'd discovered it years ago. It's the perfect camping food: long-life, light, and easily packed.

When I'm flat I can rustle up a simple mash with nooch and parsley. One pot and minimal effort.

I'm an accidental cat lady (two RSPCA rescues) interested in

And a lot of other stuff I'll remember as soon as I hit publish. I try to post mostly positive stuff but if I spot an issue I think deserves attention I'll post it with a CW.
I have some health issues which I don't want to focus on (I'm more than my diagnosis) but I'll weigh in where someone needs advice.
