Yesterday was the last stage of the Bike #Transalp 2023.
My legs were on fire again. I managed to stay with the women who is probably the fastest downhill for quite some time. I’m the second uphill I left her and found the fastest women uphill and rode with her up the mountain. On the last downhill I got away and found a fast team who pulled me to the finish line.

Todays already the penultimate stage. Weather seems to be fine. The climbs will probably be very hot. 😓 But finally I will visit the Tremalzo. Ten years after my first attempt. 😏

Most successful stage so far. Got 19th. Was 23rd in the overall until yesterday.
I had extremely good legs in the uphills, gravel downhills were bad as always. And on an asphalt downhill I slided into a wall, but I kinda gracefully saved it.
The wet trail was so awesome. It was sketchy with roots and stones everywhere. I could ride the whole trail except if someone in front of me couldn’t and I did not have enough speed anymore. I overtook several people there. Yeah! 🤩 #Transalp #MTB #Cycling

Our stage today got cancelled. At the start a massive thunderstorm was going down with hail and everything. The pro riders refused to start the stage because the said it’s not a great idea to get up a 2600 m high mountain during thunderstorms.

Slightly terrifying about tomorrow is that the stage starts one hour earlier, so at eight, because there is rain forecasted. This will be the Queen’s stage with 100 km and 3200 m elevation. And trails up in 2600 m altitude. It might get madshitcrazy if it’s wet and cold and rainy. 😳

Even my gravel descending Skills went up a notch. At least nobody did catch me. And the loamy trails down to Bormio were just first class. 😍🤩

#Transalp Stage 3 was crazy hard at First. They sent us up a extremely steep and long climb. I thought I have to give up. But I made it and afterwards it just got better and better.
Now my legs feel great I stretched like a maniac and I’m kinda hyped for tomorrow.

At the moment I’m looking at the exact track of each stage. The queen's stage has 100 km and 3140 m elevation gain. Fun thing is the elevation gain is happening on the first 50 km. The last 50 km is downhill with almost no interruptions.

In six days I start the Bike Transalp. It’s one of the biggest Mountainbike stage races. This years it’s from Nauders (AT) to Riva del Garda (IT). I never did something like this. I did races in the alps and I did a three day stage race. I'm excited and anxiously looking forward to how I will perform. #MTB #Cycling #Transalp
