My white privilege and ability to pass in unsafe spaces has meant that I've never been physically assaulted or even harassed because I'm transgender.
Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Currently reading Redefining Realness by Janet Mock; I'm only a bit into it, but it's a great read so far with exquisite writing.

I have friends who would take me in if it all came crashing down.
My partner is my soul mate and he will adjust.
I have a local trans health community offering free services.

Insider spent the last year building a database of transgender homicides that happened in the last 5 years.
The data paints a pretty upsetting story. 175 transgender people died of violence, most of them very young. 59 cases still unsolved. Only 28 murder convictions. Only 1 hate crime conviction.
I think this is a tough but important read.
