I’ve not said much about #TransAwernessWeek this year, mainly because the transphobes have become so vile in their attacks on anyone vaguely supportive of trans rights. I started my transition when I was 18. Two years later I detransitioned because the health authorities in Denmark continuously tried to make me doubt myself.

It felt worse than my dysphoria, and I was on the brink of leaving this life. The year was 1993.

Three years ago at 45 I transitioned again, and it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself.

I knew all along I was trans. I just didn’t thought I was able to get the proper medical and mental help to transition.
