It's a shame that #Thoreau's first book (A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers), the one he was writing while at #Walden pond, gets so little appreciation.

It is a much more difficult read, yes, but one that I appreciate more and more as I get older.

Have you seen/read #FightClub recently? I never go long without churning thoughts on the little philosophical tokens woven throughout it.

Austerity--poverty, too--can play springboard to #clarity & more resourcefulness--even re-connection to aspects of living.

It is very much a mirror of #Thoreau. (Or in fairness, #transcendentalism anticipated Fight Club.) But it's there still, & perhaps best, in the words of Thoreau:
