This looks like a handy little app. I wonder if it would be possible to use with phone calls? I’m guessing I’d have to use it on a separate device and put my phone on loudspeaker, but it could be a way of helping Deaf people like myself, who can speak but not hear, communicate more effectively.

I found out today that #OpenAI was funded by a guy I don't like to support. It's a shame because I was liking some of the tools for transcription and translation that are local and not "cloud". Any similar #AI tools in development that you know that can be used locally to #translate, #transcribe? #Finnish would be great

Do any devs out there know if you can tell the #OpenAI #whisper #transcribe system to use British English spelling in transcriptions? I see "--language en" is an option (and the one I use). There is a "uk", but that's Ukrainian...

The reason I ask is to prevent misspellings of common terms like "color/colour", "favorite/favourite", etc...

I'm using #whisper (and #WhisperCPP by ggerganov at GitHub) from #openai to #transcribe my #podcasts so I can search them. I wish my #podcatcher @overcastfm would use something like this. Searching podcasts is something I do all the time and the search mechanism on all podcatchers always stinks, cos they're not full-text!

So, I download them to my computer, run #whisper, #search those text files, and voila! I've got a full-text-search!

#Journalists, I must tell you about Sonix.ai for the amazing #transcribing tool it is. I had an hour-and-a-half interview and the speaker spoke with a heavy French accent. Despite that, Sonix was able to #transcribe about 90% of it accurately, and very little needed to be edited.

A bit late now but my #halloween #zine that I made while bored at work the other week brings me a lot of joy!
