Am 20.November wird seit 1999 jedes Jahr den Opfern transfeindlicher Gewalt gedacht. Der erste #TDoR fand zum Gedenken an die Schwarze trans Frau Rita Hester in den #USA statt. Transfeindlichkeit ist aber nicht auf die #USA beschränkt. In den letzten 12 Monaten verzeichneten internationale Organisationen 327 ermordete trans und gender-diverse Personen weltweit, die Dunkelziffer liegt vermutlich deutlich höher.

Mit dem Mord an Malte beim #CSD in #Münster und dem gewalttätigen Angriff auf eine trans Frau in #Bremen nur eine Woche später, sind die schwerwiegenden Folgen von Trans- und #Queerfeindlichkeit dieses Jahr auch in Deutschland sehr offensichtlich. Die Daten zu transfeindlichen Übergriffen weltweit zeigen auch den intersektionalen Zusammenhang verschiedener Gewaltverhältnisse.

95% der weltweit ermordeten Personen waren trans Frauen und trans-feminine Menschen.

50% der ermordeten Menschen, waren Sex-Arbeiter*innen

Von den Fällen wo race und Ethnizität erhoben wurden, machen BIPoC Personen 65% der gemeldeten Morde aus 36% der in Europa ermordeten trans Menschen waren Migrant*innen.“

#Teachers, what are you doing today to help your LGBTQ+ students feel safe, loved, and cared for in the wake of the #ClubQ murders?

I am subbing at a high school today. I don't know these students and they don't know me. As a general rule, I try to share my pronouns. When I take attendance, I go student by student in case they are using a different name than is listed on the attendance sheet or have anything else they wish to ask me or say to me. I wish there was more I could do.

Our sympathies for the victims of this tragedy (5 killed and 25 injured) and also appreciation to the unknown heroes (one of them who pinned down the suspect until authorities arrived to prevent more casualties) last Nov. 20th in Club Q at Colorado Springs. This goes to show the continuing threats of the community - our leaders must take action to protect us and end gun violence.

I didn't post for #TransDayofRemembrance because ... it's honestly just gutting to think about my trans siblings who didn't make it. I love being #nonbinary, I love my transness, and it crushes me to think on how hard it can be (even though I've experienced some of it myself).

It's hard to have survivor guilt. It's hard not to look away when it's people you love getting hurt. It's hard to talk about when it feels just so performative.
