#CharacterCreationChallenge Day 15: GURPS Transhuman Space

So yes, I am cheating a bit today, because I already did #GURPS, but #TranshumanSpace is one of my favourite settings, so I will permit it.

GURPS:TS is a hard sci-fi setting in the Solar System (absolutely no FTL) in the year 2100. It's got sentient AIs, genetic engineering, biological computers, nanotech, memetics, and you could keep going. It's pretty weird in a frighteningly believable way. 1/3

For those who don't know it, #TranshumanSpace is a 2002 #rpg published by Steve Jackson Games, set in the year 2100.

It presents an optimistic but still fairly grounded vision of the future in which humanity manages to colonize the solar system without any obviously super-magic tech or civilization-ending cataclysms. It's deeply political, it presents lots of questions without obvious answers and its on of my favorite Games I'll Almost Certainly Never Get To Play™.

Def. worth a read.

Whenever I watch (or read) #TheExpanse I get the immediate urge to run, play or at least re-read #TranshumanSpace. (Ugh, that's the good hard-ish scifi space rpg shit!)
