#Transifex #Poeditor #Weblate Was nimmt man denn wenn das Ziel der Übersetzung sowohl HTML Versatzstücke als auch UI-Elemente sind? Ich möchte #OpenCampingMap auf so ein System umstellen und bräuchte da mal eine Empfehlung. Bei #Openstreetmap ist das Bild uneinheitlich. Anscheinend kommen in verschiedenen Projekten alle drei Werkzeuge zum Einsatz.

Hm möchte man dieses #Transifex wirklich verwenden? Was nimmt man denn so, wenn eine Community (in diesem Fall aus dem #Openstreetmap Umfeld) ohne GitHub Kenntnisse Übersetzungen betreuen soll?

The #FOSS community at large needs to cure its addiction to #proprietary services like #GitHub, #Discord, #Steam, #Transifex and whatnot.

#transifex est un outil du passé. Continuer à l'utiliser quand on a mieux et libre (#weblate), c'est comme dire à un développeur d'utiliser CVS plutôt que Git. Encore que.. CVS est libre...

Peut-être que si vous avez la bonne volonté de migrer, vous n'aurez plus besoin d'appeler à la contribution.

Si vous avez besoin d'aide, nous sommes plusieurs ici avec la connaissance. Évidemment , une fois sur weblate j'aiderai pour votre première release.

I like hosted.weblate.org. A few #FOSS games/engines/projeects have their #translations there, like #Minetest.
Another website is translatewiki.net, where #FreeCol is translated.
Oddly but interestingly, #OpenTTD goes its completely own way on https://translator.openttd.org/

So please nobody tell me there is no way around #Transifex. 😛

I really wish #FOSS projects would end their addiction to proprietary dependencies like #Transifex. If not even FOSS devs can manage to build a full FOSS development stack for their own projects, we have no right to blame users.

A long time ago, I was the most active translator for Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead for #German. This was a big deal, because the amount of text is HUGE.

But I was no longer active as a translator since years. The main reason is that I have started to hate Transifex (where the #translations are stored). #Transifex' website is proprietary and I no longer want to associate with it.

#CDDA is #FOSS and I think FOSS #development should be using FOSS tools all way down.
