Sometimes when I look back at before-times photos I’m stunned by the dead look in my own eyes. I remember feeling tired but that “guy” looks like he was on his last legs. I couldn’t fully understand how much weight I was carrying until I was able to finally set it down.

Late November 2017; this morning. (This was about the same time as my last guy haircut. I would reach the transition point about 18 months later, in May 2019... which is another story.)

By 2017, I had already gotten a lot of my facial electro done "just in case". I would lose a lot of weight in 2018; a trip to Japan helped. 2019 would be, for me, the crisis year; I hit the transition point in May, and things only got more interesting from there.

Over 2 years ago, a haircut is what finally broke the last barrier for me to admit I am #trans.

Picture #1 is me 12/2020, peak crisis point of “am I trans”.

I broke. I was not trans. I could not be. I was 37, married, parent, nope, bury these feelings, they are clearly wrong (Narrator: That foolish girl).

And my hair, if I was a boy, it was too long.

So I went to get a haircut at a barber shop.
