I just finished my first book in nearly two months, a brilliant short story collection by Erika Kobayashi (tr. Brian Bergstrom) called 'Sunrise: Radiant Stories.'
The works tackle issues surrounding nuclear power and its affects on people, especially women.
An especially timely read given the current situation at Fukushima Daiichi. Highly recommend.

I haven't posted in a long time, but I finished my June book for the #TranslatedLitChallenge yesterday.
The theme for June is to read a book from a place you want to visit. Now, I was in Taiwan two months ago, but I already want to go back, so what better than to read the Taiwanese book I actually bought in Taiwan!
Anyway, this book was incredible. Absolutely horrifying, but incredible and the translation choices made it all the better!

I haven't finished most of the books I started in April, but it's time for another month of the #TranslatedLitChallenge! Not only that, but on my new e-reader!
The theme for May is fantasy and I'm honestly not sure if that's what this is, but it was on a list I found, so I just went with it.

Not quite April yet, but I've already picked out my next #TranslatedLitChallenge book!
I've read another book by this author before and didn't love it, but it left me curious enough to want to give 'Hurricane Season' a try! It also gets me reading something from outside of East Asia, so that's a bonus too since I think varied reading is really important.

For this month's #TranslatedLitChallenge, the prompt is to read a book of less than 200 pages. It's kind of hard to find books that weren't originally in Japanese or Korean that meet that requirement. However, I managed to find something!
I'll be reading 'The Pachinko Parlour' by Elisa Shua Dusapin and translated from the French by Anessa Abbas Higgins.

The first prompt for the #TranslatedLitChallenge in 2023 is 'Book intended to read in 2022' and I decided to read 'Solo Dance' by Li Kotomi and translated from the #Japanese by Arthur Reiji Morris.
I've already finished it and it has definitely left me with some things to consider. I really hope to see more from both author and translator in English in the future!

Happy New Year! 🎉
A new year means new #ReadingGoals and I've finally figured out what I want to do!
- Read 52 books total
- Read 12 books in #Japanese
- Complete the #TranslatedLitChallenge for 2023
I also want to get back to writing reviews for my book blog if possible!
