Another walk around #Sheffield from #Halfway to #Beighton along the #TranspennineTrail.
Unfortunately rain & thunder curtailed it.

Today we head to #Derbyshire / #SouthYorkshire for a mighty 10 mile hike from Chesterfield to Halfway (Sheffield) along the #TransPennineTrail.

There’s something wonderful walking along a winding path that meanders through the landscape. Although this path is man made, it instinctively feels part of the natural environment.

Learned my lesson and took the #dogs for a walk down our newly-surfaced stretch of the #TransPennineTrail (known locally as the #TPT)

Still plenty of scope for them to exercise and run about yet we came home with just 8 little paws to rinse!

@MichalBryxi on the #TransPennineTrail in the UK we have some cycle gaps (not sure what to call them) to let cycles through gated sections while restricting motorbikes and quad bikes. These can be too narrow for wheelchairs.

Some others have wide gaps but with wooden rail sleepers across them at kerb kerb level. Easy enough for cyclists and horses to get over. Wheelchair users not so much.

Neither are very good. Interested in seeing some good examples.
