Adenosine can be metabolized both externally and internally. Externally, an enzyme called adenosine deaminase is responsible for transforming adenosine into inosine. Additionally, a protein called equilibrative #nucleoside #transporters (ENTs) helps to bring the #extracellular activity of adenosine to an end.
