@hyenagirl64 I am out publically, I have my pronouns in my medical charts. For the last 6 months, I have been repeatedly misgendered while trying to figure out what's wrong. In today's procedure, they used They/Them without hesitation or me prompting and I almost cried. This was the first time in 6 months that any doctor has. #transpositivity

#transpositivity We get so many compliments about our name when we bring it up its fantastic. Also we get to just be extremely queer in public with our partner. It's not just one instance of queerness either. Bonus points when we're gaying out and about around the mall and the likes and bringing out the queerness in other folks too, getting them to open up and feel safe is our goal after all.

@hyenagirl64 The most recent time I was queer in public was last Friday at a French chat. I told folks I'm #pansexual. The guy next to me revealed he was #gay. I felt safe.

I'm not trans but the last event involving a trans person was in Feb when I passionately kissed Lovely Impala (trans girl) at Walmart in public. Fearless Impala (cis girl) was there, but didn't like PDAs. No one was paying attention to us, however. Neither are in my life anymore.

I guess this qualifies for #transpositivity?

every single person i passed just smiled and said hello... no weird looks, no callouts, nothing negative at all. these types of experiences are valuable to me when i hear so much about folks who'd do me harm. it's nice to just be treated like a human, like everyone else

I really like it when people use "they" when talking about me until they are sure what I like to be called. I look pretty ambiguous, so they're doing right.

It is really nice when people that work in clothing stores are understanding about the fact that I am really profoundly ignorant about women's fashion.

All-gender bathrooms are awesome! My favorite is at a place where they are marked "stalls only" and "stalls and urinals."

So my #voice is something that I've definitely been having less dysphoria about lately, which is something I've struggled with on and off since the start of my transition and while I'm not comfortable sharing any recordings of my pre-transition voice, here is a recording of it I did today.

It's a short segment of me reading Ken Thompson's letter to Mergenthaler from the vacation memo (covered in the computerphile 202 jailbreak video).

While I still think there's room for improvement I think I've gotten quite far and I'm pretty happy with where I am vocally. Bear in mind I have not had any kind of professional voice training.

Cis people can't use what's "in their pants" to explain that they're cis because they don't have special cis people parts.

Nonbinary, genderqueer, and trans people have the same systems down there, generally speaking, as cis people.

So, cis people need evidence why they are not trans, nonbinary, or genderqueer given that cis people share the same basic systems as the former.

This is mostly a joke. I don't care about cis parts.

If the gender binary was immutable, then there would be no need to defend it. It would be as inevitable and natural as the sunrise.

But it’s not.

It must be upheld by policing how people dress, act, love, etc. with the threat of violence if one gets caught deviating too far from this forced “norm.”

Dysphoria is only one reason to transition, but there are others, too.

You, better than anyone, know what you need to live a full and satisfying life.
