The thing I hate most about this subject of #transwomen in #powerlifting is the way we constantly break it down into a physiological problem.

Just from my experience:

1. The stress of transitioning and dealing with the problems that come up from it impede your progress.

2. Nobody knows how to train my body. Nobody knows how my hormone regimen is going to affect my performance. And when I tell people what I think works best for my body, they tend not to listen to me.

I really dread this subject of "butch erasure", because I know that I'm going to end up feeling erased.

It's not that TERFs are using hateful rhetoric. TERFs are gonna TERF, and if I lost my shit every time one of them said something hateful, I'd be a miserable human being.

What bothers me is that transmasculine people and allies never seem to have the thought "Yes, some people might identify as a butch if they can't transition, but you know, #butch #transwomen exist too."

The Netherlands crowned its first #transgender #MissNetherlands winner, Rikkie Valerie Kollé, year.

About a week later, Patrizia Mirigliani, the official organizer of #MissItaly said that Miss Italy wouldn’t allow #TransWomen to compete. Only people who were assigned female at birth are allowed to enter.

Result: #TransMen have heard this call for participants who were assigned female at birth, and more than 100 have entered the Miss Italy pageant by now.
