Days later, LA Gov John Bel Edwards launched an investigation https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/01/us/louisiana-juvenile-detention-abuse.html

To me, it doesn't make sense—in terms of public safety, youth development, or any other societal goal—to place children in detention centers. We should close them and offer alternatives that focus on counseling, rehabilitation & restoration
