In 2016 my partner and I visited Out'n'About #Treehouse Treesort in Cave Junction, Oregon and stayed in one of their treehouses. My partner was a bit too leery of the high-up tree houses connected by suspension bridges so we ended up in one of their lodgings on stilts, but the grounds were magical and so neat to explore. #pine #travel #photography

If I recall they "degrade gracefully" when viewed by plain Mastodon clients (they would just be rendered like links with preview cards).
I run #Hometown instead of regular Mastodon. It is a more mild customization than #Glitch and while it doesn't support *creating* posts with markup or quotes it does *render* them much prettier than plain Mastodon.
In any case I trust the leadership of both Hometown and #Treehouse to align with my ideals more than Gargron TBH. I mean, I don't have any beef with Gargron myself really but IMO his vision is limited in a way I can see how others would.

Finishing the roof of the treehouse. Two nights ago it rained so I had to get Doris out of her bedroom into the camper. Now we found a tarp that perfectly fits over the layers of thin trunks on the roof. Another pro next to being waterproof is that it is much darker so Doris will hopefully sleep a little earlier.

Made a bookshelf in the treehouse and moved our little rock garden with succulents to a more shaded spot in the forest. It was in full, full sun, even for the succulents that was a bit to much. Hopefully they will enjoy their new spot.

I picked up a second hand mosquito net so Doris can use the treehouse as her bedroom. Today is the the day, for the first time she will sleep (or try to sleep) in her treehouse-bedroom. Pretty proud that our work is good enough to use as a bedroom.

Today we fixed the biggest wish of Doris for the treehouse; a lift stairs. We have to make a rope so the kids can pull it up from the inside so no one can enter. Big fun!

I found this brand new looking wooden plank with silver plastic around it at the trash bin. It looked like it was supposed to be a little bench. So I made it a little bench in the treehouse.
And so we needed safety measures for the window, because if kids climb the bench they could fall out. It made a matrix with some nice and strong rope. Pretty happy with the result, and the kids too :)
