Two days of cave research in and around Mt Etna Nation Park, Queensland, Australia reminded me that native fig trees have root systems that go deep underground to access groundwater. And that land surface models don't do a good job of our deep rooting native trees.

Hello. Here's a Coastal Banksia (Banksia Integrifolia).
The silver white colour on the underside of the leaves is delightful and the whacky yellow cylindrical flower cones are so distinctive.
Just visible up to the top right are a couple of the Big Bad Banksia Men brought to life by May Gibbs in the Gumnut stories. The name given to the aged dark Banksia cones.
