It gets less blunt but no less biting from there.

FAV NEW BAND THIS YEAR, by a long shot. WETLEG is smart, sassy, supple, and swaggering as the subject matter requires.

Crammed with rock smarts from power pop to punk, from new-wavy surf music and psychodelic accents, the album says, "Move with attitude", and you get up.

The band brings it live, too. I don't do many shows in the age of COVID, but for WETLEG, I'll mask up and take a seat.

Friendly reminder that every time Dylan has been dismissed, he tends to drop another quiet masterpiece. This one from '89, Oh. MERCY, paired with brilliant producer Daniel Lanois who, despite a sometimes contentious relationship, also produced *another* masterpiece comeback in '97, Time Out Of Mind.

(For the record, Bob's been running strong ever since. No further "comebacks" required to this point...)
