The rough bark belies its soft interior,
carrying nutrients in the form of sugars around vast circulatory system, from loamy depths of a searching taproot to tremendous
heights, swaying in a heady breeze.

A presence larger than life.
A life lived to the fullest,
Mourning a loss, his wife.
I stood there at the pulpit,
ready to deliver his repose.
The tears would flow quite suddenly,
On his casket, a long stemmed red rose.
A life worthy of celebration,
He would not want to see such tears.
Deserving of such adulation,
His legacy felt for many years.
It is time to say goodbye,
Farewell my dear friend.
I'm sure that with the passing time,
We will walk together again.
