Password management is the corner stone of security (I use #1Password and #Bitwarden online plus #KeepassXC). Then I pay for drive for backups (#Tresorit #pcloud and #internxt). I also pay for #Joplin Cloud as my note taking app, mainly to support the project. Finally I host my own servers (#Nextcloud and #Matrix for messaging).

I imagine there would be problems if the sync process tried to lock temporary files while uploading them, in the middle of generating a document... does someone know how OneDrive does this?

There seems to be a pattern in the "only now 40% discount for the first year" offers from Tresorit...
September, March, June, September.
So yeah, only now... well, I don't believe that.
I suspect the next one will be December or March. Likely March. Or they don't promote it as much via email in December.

I loved #Tresorit, but a bit too expensive.
Liked #Nextcloud, but had some data loss (even if the support was great and recovered most of that).
Currently on #Koofr (through #Cyberduck and #Cryptomator).
Few docs on #CryptPad.
Planning to probably use #Filen as soon as Koofr expires.

75 followers · 2730 posts · Server fosstodon.orgAfter one year with #Tresorit, one year with @nextcloud (through YourOwnNet.Eu provider) and one year offline, I'm now testing the Swiss Backup of #Infomaniak, through #OpenStack #Swift and @CyberDuck.
Seems quite nice for now: I only had to increase the connection timeout from 30 to 60s since I had lot of errors.
Pity that on Cyberduck I can't have two different icons, one for "normal" and one for "encrypted" (see @cryptomator) folders.
And, 1TB for €63,12 per year is good too!
