On April 20th, I tooted on a gun attack on a pawn shop in New #Taipei and stated that while #Taiwan was very safe for tourists there clearly are #triads operating in the country.
Meanwhile the main suspect of providing the gun and plotting the attack has been expedited from Malaysia to Taiwan. Look at the guy: tattooed arms, branded shirt. As triad as they get. 28 arrests in total so far, 28 scumbags less roaming the streets. Good. #crime #organizedcrime #FarEast

While #Taiwan is a very safe place for #tourists, there is no doubt that organized crime aka the #triads are active there as well.
This latest incident involving a fire arm in New #Taipei is a typical example: Weapons capable to shoot that many rounds are hard to get your hands on in Taiwan - let alone for a 17-year old. Still no one got hurt in this attack (apart from some scooters), so its main intention was to intimidate some rivals most likely.

But there are #triads operating in Taiwan, and some of these triads are - believe it or not - staunch supporters of the #CCP and #China.
