All I knew about this movie was:
-at some point there was a scene not for the emetophobic
-it's a long movie
I was not prepared for how biting & hilarious it was. I laughed, loudly, many times during it. It wasn't perfect, but it was damn entertaining for being 2.5 hrs long.

Ruben Östlund's Palme d'Or winner "Triangle of Sadness" is almost perfect. It's hilarious, but in a dry and satirical way, almost like Roy Andersson, albeit not as extreme. I wrote a little something about the film.

While it's highly unlikely to win (hey, I'm impressed it got nominated!), this movie has some pointed things to say about currency, power, and privilege.
That said, Hollywood loves a story about itself, so who knows?
But I'm betting they'll go with the Fabelmans.
