I feel like my time on #bluesky has been like being on any social media app that isn't #Mastodon. #Twitter, #Tribel, #Facebook, #Threads, #Instagram, etc all are mostly just the popular kids getting noticed & the rest screaming into the wind trying to say something controversial to get noticed.

I've tried pretty much every social media app including #Threads by #Meta (pretty sure there was already a Threads app but Meta doesn't give a fuck), and #Mastodon is still the best experience. The only issue for me is that the interactions I was having last year on Mastodon died off within months & now I might as well be dribbling words on #Tribel for the lack of engagements.

@therobburgessshow I keep it at Mastodon because Mastodon is good for why I joined Twitter in the first place: following the tech crowds.

#CounterSocial: seems a lot emptier than Mastodon and their Desktop UI look like several mobile feeds side by side. It's hard to look at.

#Tribel: I don't hear enough about them.

#Spoutible: I like the guy behind it Chris Bouzy. When I went on, it was empty but, I have heard before there is too much gatekeeping and it is like a hivemind in the same vein as Truth Social.

#PostNews: I don't hear a lot about that one but, I heard it had become primarily a news aggregator ran by bots. I just heard that and never tried to get on it.

#Blackplanet: It definitely isn't what it used to be and, there is limited engagement on posts.

All in all, I appreciate how many social media sites were built in response to Elon's takeover of #birdsite but, there can only be but so many to have engagement.

@chris_ You have articulated what is in my mind. I have been on Twitter since 2010. I deleted my account when the Billionaire Punk bought it. I joined #Mastodon and #Tribel but I missed my #MiamiDolphins followers and sports talk. I’ve been back and forth. However I am coming to the end of the line (again). If the Twitter owner carries out his plan to restrict tweets while trying to bilk $8 a month out of Tweeters, I will delete (again). This time permanently.

I logged into Tribel earlier and noticed that blockers saw stuff to block and I was surprised to see that some of them were #Facebook trackers.

The google ones I could excuse since they use google ReCaptcha on their site but still... this site is promoting itself as better than Facebook and yet they are selling their users down the river?

Note the following is usually twice a day.

● #Facebook: FB proper maybe 5 min unless I have an involved reply to something. On #Messenger I can get into some longer conversations with actual friends.
● #Instagram: Maybe 2 mins. I don't follow very many, and usually the suggesteds are of little interest. I used to like to save some images, but I don't do much of that anymore.
● #Twitter I scroll thru for maybe 10 minutes, a little more if I do some replies.
● #Mastodon Maybe 5 mins scrolling, more for replies, not counting toots to Denise ;)
● #TikTok I can easily do that for a half hour to an hour w/o realizing.
● #YouTube 10 mins scrolling and putting stuff in playlists or Watch Later. B/c of the ads now I put in a lot less actual watching time.
● #Post and #Tribel I set up accounts, but rarely go there anymore.

I cannot instal #Tribel app on my Android 11 run device.
I have enough disk space available. My device is a 4 gb ram enabled one.

Can anyone tell me why I cannot instal the app? it is saying that app installation failed.
