Modern work destroys bodies, minds, and souls.

The time left over for most of us is insufficient to salve those wounds.

For 20 years all my work did was take.

Then the power of organizing made itself known when we had a union drive & the #union lost unfortunately, but right after the vote we got the $2 dollar an hour raise that we’d been fighting for for over 2 years.

Even the THREAT of us banding together got us the raise we should have had 2 years back, imagine if we'd won.

Being polite and bargaining as individuals only got us told to quit if we don’t like it. #solidarity

Unions are about balancing #power and #democracy, not simply a reaction to horrible workplaces. Even those with a job they enjoy will find benefits to union representation even if it's just to help make minor changes and protections from potential future abuses.

For instance (get it? #instance?) A bunch of #Twitter #workers prob thought a union would be bad and got shitcanned by Phony Stark on a whim... just sayin'.
