The whole discourse about differing 'microblogging' sites, reminds me of the Instant messaging war.

Where different platforms kept adjusting their API to not be compatible.

Personally I was delighted to discover back in the day, as I could be logged in to ICQ, MSM, AIM, Yahoo chat and IRC all via the one client.

I wonder if we will see something like that again.

Back when skinning UIs was still the norm for such applications.

Sadly my 8-digit number got killed off a couple of years ago due to inactivity... :( then again, nobody but bots were left on there anyway...

Don't think I'd find any of my other contacts one any of the other services either.
