There's still scattered burn and surreal twice burned areas on the third day backpacking, but there's also unburned and healthy after the burn areas. My plans had to morph a little and I got in tagging a peak right at the end!

I stopped by the extreme northwest corner of Yolla Bolly, a #Wilderness I've never visited before, and hiked the trails there in a loop visiting their namesakes. Fire almost 3 years before has changed the area, but there are still flowers and butterflies and springs and rolling hills. I've had a bunch of little hiking goals for the area in southern Trinity County, California that have been sitting and stewing in the back of my mind, some for 5-6 years. Over the last couple weeks, I got out to complete them. It was a grand trip even if it left one goal still unsatisfied and the car came back on the donut. (AKA the "compact spare".)
