I think what you want to know is, are there GNU/Linux distros with good accessibility for non-geeks?

Have you tried Trisquel.info?Accessibility is a top priority for the distro and one of our core community members depends on a screenreader.

@JakeNL Hmmmmm... I have this one device, on which a fully-free #GNU #Linux distribution will work. I also have a Windows device, on which a distro probably won't install, so, I leave it alone; may need it someday. When I do this reinstall, should it be #Debian or #Trisquel Now, I'm using the former, in its "testing" build. The latter looks very nice, and has some annoyances, not found in the former.

@bubstance @simendsjo Oh, I knew about the "entirely foss" aspect of Guix. This machine is capable of running such distros. It runs Trisquel well, and that's a fully-foss distro, as was Debian, unless you chose one of the special images with the non-free firmware added. I. E. Before Bookworm. As of Bookworm, Debian ships the one net installer image, that includes some non-free firmware. I wonder if this will help with on-boarding of Debian? I know the "missing firmware" issue is a blocking issue for many. This machine is from Think Penguin, so, it doesn't need non-free bits. There might be other machines, like this, out there, but they're hard to find. I wonder if this is why Debian relented? If Trisquel relents, it will be, basically, another snapless Ubuntu Mate. Conheci o #Trisquel através do #Jami. É um ótimo app de mensagem, um dos poucos que respeita a privacidade, não precisa e-mail e nem celular. Mas ainda tenho poucos contatos :didi:

Instalando o #Trisquel em uma VM. Infelizmente não tem uma versão com XFCE e nem repositórios no Brasil, mas achei uma iso netinstall e estou usando repositórios do Equador e esta bem razoável a velocidade e estou instalando no modo expert, para instalar o XFCE.

Seule vraie solution, un #oslibre type #gnulinux (ex: #trisquellinux ) et des #logicielslibres (UNIQUEMENT #libre) sur un pc équipé de #Libreboot
Et utiliser des #webservices respectueux de la #vieprivee (en plus des #gafam il y en a d'autres)
Et sur votre #webbrowser préféré (#firefox pour moi ou #abrowser sur #trisquel) j'ai ajouté #privacybadger et #ublockorigin

Reste à trouver un #librephone digne de ce nom.

@Wubira sé que los de #trisquel tienen experiencia en esa área del hardware, y que esta compañía hace celulares y pc's con hardware libre, tal vez puedas conseguir la parte que le falta a tu pc. Un bloqueador puede ser riesgoso en algún momento, habla de que probablemente halla también un rastreador
