@aburka @leigh Rather than electrical buses though, one should use #trolleybuses which require much smaller batteries since like electrical trains, for the most part the energy consumed doesn't need to be stored locally.

While they're not as good as rail, when the investment can't be justified yet they're a good in-between step and the electrical infrastructure used for them is easily reused for trams.

Even #Trolleybuses with dedicaded lanes would be a major upgrade...

@BrentToderian it would help if light rail projects weren't turned into boondoggles by the political process of building them (lots of real estate speculation instead of incremental development) and #trolleyBuses are probably a better fit for most of our sprawling suburbs.
