I'm noticing some of the models indicating a leftward shift with #HurricaneLee at 144+- hours out (I circled it in green) when parallel with Maryland/New Jersey.

Mind you this is going to change as that time nears and becomes more certain. A good rule of thumb is that anything more than 84 hours away or longer should be taken lightly.

With that said, when different models start showing a trend, it should be noted and watched for in future runs.

@sadele2 Yes indeed. ALWAYS keep a eye out, but don't bait the public into thinking they need to stay glued 24/7. That alone causes anxiety and distrust when the media in a day or two are like "Oh look at that, it's curving north!".

This is why people don't trust their local weather man.

Bermuda should be watching much more closely in my honest opinion.

Models can change, but when a lot of them agree, it's important to express that.

Sat and watched YouTube last night while resting. I am so disturbed by how many YT videos were click baiting Hurricane Lee based on thumbnails alone. Almost every single one, both media corps AND regular folk you would hope to trust more, shows the cone of uncertainty but NOT the models showing it curving north before hitting the US.

Of all the ones I saw, only ONE showed the models. Good ol' Al Roker on TODAY passed the hype check.

I evacuated last night around 12:30AM with my son. It was a last minute decision, but what pushed me over the edge was one of the NHC's track updates that brought a potential CAT 4 hurricane way too close to home. I drove to Dothan, AL and slept a few hours and re-assessed. When I saw Idalia finalize that right turn, I made my way back home.

Needless to say, I was lucky. Power outages two counties over are at 100% outage.

I'm home for recovery now. With a category 3 hurricane currently expected to make landfall east of me. I'm sure I'll still see some impacts but if the track verifies it won't be as intense as I had been originally expecting at my home location.

Those of you between the coasts of Tallahassee and Tampa really need to be paying attention, and probably evacuating or preparing to soon.
