I found trout fillets in the freezer this morning - I decided to marinate them for my dinner 😊

I just had them (sautéed) - 🤔 well, it was far better last time when I marinated unfrozen fillets. I think they were in the fridge quite a while 🤔

Creek fishing with a 7' fiberglass 3 weight. I also caught a smallmouth bass.

This stocker is a holdover from the winter. He doesn't look too good, and this Ohio creek has probably been too warm and muddy for him all summer.

He was a little too big for my net and ended up on the ground. As a rule, I don't pause to photograph fish that have had a rough landing, but things didn't go wrong here until the phone was already in my hand.

Although I spent a few days relaxing around the Harrisburg area with my family, I really didn’t get a chance to fly fish due to heavy rains🤔

A good thing was that, not much rain during the day time, I was able to check a few good-looking creeks 😉

It’s about two hours from my home, so, I am not sure when I will be visiting this area. But at least I know where to fish, so I will be ready next time 😊

A tributary of the Susquehanna River

Looks like a great trout water😊

The water was muddy due to heavy rains. The water temperature was 22C/72F - it was higher than I thought probably due to the rains. I did not fish 😉

This creek runs through heavily forested areas and feeds into the Susquehanna River. It is stocked, but supports wild Brown trout and Brook Trout.

This is where the Tulpehocken creek tailwater fishery starts 😊

The fertile water is released from the bottom of the dam, keeping the creek water cool enough for trout to survive during the summer. But the water temperature was about 22C/72F 🤔 please don’t fish trout if you intend to release them 😉

I did not fly fish. I walked along this creek. The water temperature was 21C (70F) at around 6:30 pm on a hot summer day 😊

I believe that if the state implements catch and release of Brown trout (not of Rainbow, which won’t survive), we may be able to establish a wild population of wild Brown trout in this creek 🤔

Two Hearted River, MI

I don’t know about this river, but it looks like it is a great river for fly fishing a variety of Salmonids🤔

Many of our local beer stores have this beer, but I has never had it, so I decided to go for it because I have been away from trout fishing for more than a month🙁

Not sure I like this beer - too heavy and sticky for me. But I think fly fishing Two Hearted River would be a great experience 😉

So, marinating trout in pickle juice for one or two days didn’t soften the pin bones 😉
I usually remove pin bones if the trout is 11-12 inches or larger because they become harder, but leave them when the trout are smaller 😊

I arrived a half an hour earlier for picking up my son, so checking this dry tributary🤔

Trout Creek is listed as a Class A wild trout water. But when I checked the creek last year, its Class A section was dry 😭- obviously, there was no sign of fish 🥲

This tributary must’ve been a nice little brook when Trout Creek had trout 🤔
