The electronics for each tiny TRS-80 Model III will be around $40:
- QT Py https://www.adafruit.com/product/5700
- EyeSPI breakout https://www.adafruit.com/product/5772
- Display https://www.adafruit.com/product/5206
- Ribbon cable https://www.adafruit.com/product/5462
- USB cable https://www.adafruit.com/product/4474
Manufacturing labor looks like:
- Solder the QT Py and breakout board
- Install CircuitPython and code
- Print 14 parts
- Assemble
- Test
Will anyone want to pay what it costs me to break even, much less make a profit? 🤷

I've released a new version of my cross-platform TRS-80 emulator.
In this version I've added an integrated machine language monitor.
Binaries available in the releases section of the github page:

Ok! I have a process that seems to work for painting the top layer of a 1:6 scale, resin printed TRS-80 badge. Basically, I dry the nib of an oil paint pen with a paper towel and then sort of dry brush paint onto the badge. This is what it looks like after a single coat.

I found a display (https://www.adafruit.com/product/5613) that might work in a 1:6 scale TRS-80 Model III and it fits into the nice EyeSPI ecosystem from @adafruit. A teeny solution might be this display driven by a stack-up of an EyeSPI BFF (https://www.adafruit.com/product/5772) and QTPy (https://www.adafruit.com/product/5325). The board stack could, I think, easily fit into the body of the miniature. That would make a neat, wifi connected little friend.

Ok, I believe that the CAD for V1 of the Tiny TRS-80 Model III is complete and now it's time to nail down the production process. There will be printing. There will be adhering. There will be painting. And there will be sanding. So, so much sanding.

Reminder to check those batteries! I found this in my Tandy 102. Thankfully - and luckily - I don't think the corrosion did any damage to the board 🤞

My finale to Subterranean Encounter:
Further ruminations on what makes a good deathtrap puzzle, and why the TRS-80 graphics better than usual.

Subterranean Encounter, Part 2: I ruminate on the philosophy behind deathtraps and experience some honestly decent TRS-80 graphics.
Also, the authors become just a little less anonymous.

For today's journey, I tackle Subterranean Encounter (1982), from a company that only seems to have written one game yet managed to produce the first TRS-80 game I've found with Apple II-style graphics layout.

Alright, more bits and pieces are drawn up and I'm printing size tests. I also ordered a couple of filament colors that, hopefully, match close enough to let me avoid paint. This first version will not include any electronics, it's solely a miniature.

I don't know if you can tell the difference, but I'm pleased as punch with how this keyboard is lookin' with a soap-n-water cleanup and some 303

Ok! I spent a little time in CAD working on the 1:6 scale TRS-80 Model III and it's starting to look like a thing!

Happy 46th birthday to the TRS-80, an iconic computer that was released on this day in 1977!
As one of the pioneering microcomputers, it played a significant role in shaping the early personal computer era.
