Remembering Yaphet Kotto (1939-2021), the charismatic American stage, film and television actor, born Frederick Samuel Kotto in New York on this day. His career spanned five decades and he was often cast as authority figures, with a sideline in flamboyant villainy. Memorable credits included Larry Cohen's (1972), (1973), (1974), Paul Schrader's (1978) and as the ill-fated Parker in (1979).
