Okay, serious question.

I just found out that has a feature at some banks to set a instead of your legal name on the credit card.

I work at a hotel, and I'm required to check ID to use someone's credit card. That name on the ID might not match the True Name in the CC.

How do we ensure that Samantha (whose ID says Johnathan because the State won't change it) is actually Samantha, and didn't just steal a credit card?

Because if we get it wrong, we don't get paid.
